I graduated from Boston University in 2021 with a business degree and a simple plan: get a good job, keep my head down, and start actually living somewhere around thirty.
Instead I graduated into a pandemic with no internships and no idea where to go. I'd also met a Dane who'd later become my wife, and somewhere in there the plan to postpone my life until thirty stopped making sense. So I gave myself a year to figure things out. What I kept coming back to was that the happiest I'd been at university was with a tripod set up, filming things I didn't want to forget. I looked up how people make money with a camera, the internet said weddings, and I started shooting them for free for couples I found on Facebook. That first wedding hooked me. I hadn't known you were allowed to have fun and get paid for it.
A few years of weddings and corporate jobs later I was good with a camera and quietly convinced I was a fraud — not about the filming, about the business. I had the degree and none of the instinct, so I stayed where I was comfortable. Hand me a brief, I'll deliver something beautiful. And it was beautiful, and it kept landing flat, because nobody in the room had decided what the video was supposed to say. They'd hired a camera when what they needed was someone to ask better questions first.
I've since worked live events where nothing can be re-shot, and built a 150-person filmmaker community in DC that took runner-up for Best Film at the 48 Hour Film Project — where my job was mostly to find the right people and then cover whatever nobody else could. What all of it taught me is that image quality is maybe a third of the answer. The rest is knowing what story you're telling and why anyone should care. That's the part I'd been avoiding, and it turns out it's the part the business degree was for.
Now I'm in Copenhagen making documentary work for mission-driven companies, and the job I actually do is find the story a business already has and can't see. The filming is the easy part.
I work across three stages: strategy, production, and the final film — helping organizations plan what to make, capture it well, and turn it into something that moves people.
/ 01
For organizations that need a plan before a camera. What to make, for whom, where it lives, and how it supports the mission. Deliverable: a content roadmap you can execute with me or anyone.
/ 02
For teams that know what they need and want it shot well. Documentary-style footage of your people, your space, your work — real moments, not staged ones.
/ 03
The full package: strategy, filming, and edit. One film that shows your audience who you are and why it matters.
"The best brand stories
aren't scripted."
Authentic content outperforms polished ads — every time. When your audience can feel that something is real, they trust you. And trust converts. My job is to find those genuine moments inside your brand and turn them into content that actually works — whether that's a planned campaign or a moment we find on the day.
Whether you have a specific project in mind or just want to explore what's possible — let's talk. I'm always open to new collaborations.
